Although King Kai is concerned about Goku’s usage of Kaioken to 4x level, he is delighted that Piccolo has destroyed the moon. Vegeta then used a technique at the expense of using a major portion of his power, creating an energy sphere to imitate as a moon (plot armor). Vegeta transformed into Oozaru (Great Ape).

As per Goku, the power of Vegeta even surpassed the power level of 5x Kaioken which should be above 40000 power. Vegeta who is still very fast in his monstrous form, tells Goku that in this form a Saiyan has their power increased by 10 times, which means Vegeta’s power reached beyond 160000.

He also explains that stronger Saiyans retain their control over their mind (more plot armor), unlike weaker Saiyans who lost control after transforming into ape form. Goku very soon realizes that it was Goku himself that crushed his grandfather in his childhood due to turning into Oozaru. Goku became an ant for Vegeta who first grabbed him, thrashed him and literally used him for entertainment.

Goku used the solar flare (Taiyoken) technique of Tien Shinhan blinding Oozaru Vegeta temporarily. He distanced himself and prepared a spirit bomb but got quickly interrupted by Vegeta. He crushed Goku’s legs and also broke all his bones, by grabbing and squishing him within his fists (very savage). Goku with his little bit of strength left fired a ki laser on Vegeta’s eye.

Gohan and Krillin saw a bright ball like the moon and also sensed incredible ki. Gohan flew in Goku’s direction followed by Krillin. Both met Yajirobe as Krillin mentions that the Saiyan tail needs to be cut to weaken Vegeta. When Oozaru Vegeta was busy attacking Goku, Krillin fired a Destructo disk to cut his tail. But Vegeta, who has already sensed him, quickly jumped avoiding the disk.

Gohan and Krillin attack one after another keeping Vegeta distracted. Suddenly Yajirobe cut off Vegeta’s tail turning him back into Saiyan, shocking Vegeta to not have sensed Yajirobe before. However, Vegeta still had enough strength to fight. Gohan had a good duel against Vegeta but eventually got overpowered. Krillin also couldn’t provide much help.

Goku, in a battered state called Krillin. Krillin received the remaining spirit bomb energy collected by Goku from Earth’s trees and plants. Goku explained that pure heart people can receive it without any backfire. After sensing the ki and turning it into a sphere, as instructed by Goku and King Kai through telepathy, Krillin fired it at Vegeta, who narrowly dodged it.

The attack went in the direction of Gohan, but Gohan caught it without any harm due to his good nature. Gohan successfully hit it back on Vegeta. Vegeta was blasted away far. Although Vegeta was heavily injured he could continue his assault. He created a massive blast by scattering his ki (overconfident).

But Vegeta saw that all three have survived due to his diminished power level. Suddenly Vegeta noticed that Gohan’s tail has regrown. Vegeta tried to destroy the artificial moon, but Yajirobe slashed Vegeta on his back with his katana injuring Vegeta further. Before Yajirobe could boast about his victory of killing Vegeta, Vegeta stand back (like the Undertaker).

He beats Yajirobe and pummels his face constantly to show him stars alongside the ‘moon’. Goku and Krillin shout at Gohan to look at the moon. Gohan turns into Oozaru (10x power increase) before Vegeta could cut Gohan’s tail. He dealt a lot of damage to Vegeta (taste of his own medicine?). Finding an opening, Vegeta was able to cut Oozaru Gohan’s tail.

Due to this Oozaru Gohan’s large body fell directly over Vegeta before transforming back. Vegeta almost became a pancake and was finally defeated. He didn’t have enough power or strength left. He called his space pod through a remote and tried to escape (snail pace). But Krillin approached Vegeta and was ready to kill him.

Suddenly, Goku requested Krillin to not kill Vegeta because he is someone who can be a great opponent for Goku (great plot armor), and his motivation to get stronger. Vegeta escapes from Earth but not before threatening to kill them in future.

Artificial Moon

For Saiyans, their true power is to turn into an Oozaru. But it is only possible in the presence of a moon. The Saiyans need to utilize Bruits wave from the moon to transform into Oozaru. Sun rays are the source of Bruits waves. To transform, Saiyans need seventeen million zeno power. On a full moon day, Bruits wave of about seventeen million zeno is emitted.

Saiyans absorb Bruits wave through their eyes by looking at the moon which causes a reaction in their tail. In case a planet doesn’t have a moon, an artificial full moon was invented by the Saiyans. Also, only a limited number of Saiyans can create an artificial full moon. By absorbing oxygen from the environment, a power ball is formed from a major portion of Saiyans’ own energy.

It is then sent to the planet’s atmosphere where it absorbs Bruits wave from the sun and transforms into an artificial moon. An Oozaru Saiyans’ power increases by ten times their full power level. Strong Oozaru Saiyans retain their rationality whereas, weak Oozaru Saiyans go berserk destroying anything on their way.
